On October 1st it begins.

On Oct. 1st, I'll begin re-reading the Bible. I've read it several times over the years, in many different ways. Recently I've been, or at least felt like I've been, skimming the verses. I've been waiting for something to reach out and grab me and nothing really has. For Easter my wife got me an interlinear New Testament (Majority Text) which has been great for reading and really understanding how the Word really read in the original Greek. Even with this, I still haven't been able to dig into the Word and have God speak to me through it.

At church last Sunday, I had a thought, an impression, a geas, a command. Read the Bible again and write down your impressions. Wow. What a great idea. I have been doing another blog for a while now so it was a no brainer to add another.

This is my personal journal of my devotional, I welcome comments and discussion. To some extent I'll welcome debate. However, I came to Christianity through a long and winding road. One that often was filled with walls created by well-meaning, and possible not so well-meaning Christians, that kept me from embracing my Savior.

We all have our theologies, doctrine and dogma. Since I'm not the Creator and He hasn't seen fit to make me a prophet, I don't feel that I'm capable of judging anyone. I will not allow the comments section to devolve into a judgmental mud slinging match. I accept that my personal beliefs may not be the same as others, but that doesn't make mine right and theirs wrong. I expect anyone who comments here to share that belief or please don't comment.

I'm looking forward to my new adventure. I'm actually going to read the verses about a week ahead to refresh my memory and to give me some time to delve into them, then re-read them the day of the blog.

Thanks,
Bryan
